Importing and Exporting Supplies and Equipment Policy
Offices and departments are frequently in need of importing and exporting supplies and equipment in support of the University’s global research and teaching activity. The importing and exporting of supplies and equipment is subject to various U.S. and foreign laws and regulations. It is important that University import/export activity be conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Failure to do so may result in the delay, return, or loss of needed supplies and equipment. Failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations may also subject the University to substantial financial penalties or denial of export privileges. Individuals who intentionally disregard such regulations are subject to arrest and prosecution.
Prior to initiating the purchase and importation of supplies or equipment from foreign suppliers, it is recommended that offices and departments contact the Office of Procurement Services. Office of Procurement Services has negotiated agreements with two customs brokers, Logenix International and Priority Worldwide Services, to assist with the import and export of supplies and equipment on behalf of the University.
